The popular online streaming platform, Twitch introduced lowered Local Subscription Pricing starting May 20, 2018. TwitchLocal Pass, a subscription based service will be available for only $4.99 that will allow users to receive local content and ad-free viewing. Currently, Twitch claims that the service is only offered in the United States, but the company is working on offering the service in other regions. The new service will be available exclusively on the official Twitch website. To sign up for the service, users will have to provide their local zip code and complete the sign-up process.
Twitch announced lower pricing on all of their local subscriptions, making it easier for users to support their favorite streamers. Starting May 20th, the price of the $4.99, $9.99 and $24.99 subscriptions will be reduced to $2.99, $5.99 and $8.99, respectively. The company hopes to incentivize its users to become local subscribers, since they’re often overlooked in favor of the $4.99 and $9.99 monthly subscriptions.
