- Forms: You can use this tool to insert shapes into PDF files. Click on the shape icon and select a shape. Click and drag the shape to the location you want to add. To resize or change the shape, click and drag the blue handles.
- Text: You can add text anywhere in the PDF file. Tap the text icon and enter your text. Drag the text box and drop it anywhere you want.
- Characters: If the list contains labels, click the desired label and drag it into the PDF file. You can change the size with the blue pins. You can create a new signature using the touchpad, the Mac’s built-in camera, or the iOS/iPadOS device.
- Message: The Note tool allows you to add a note anywhere in the PDF file. Tap the note icon and start entering text. You can also change the color of the annotation by pressing Ctrl+click, selecting Font, and then Show Color. To move the note to another place, click on it and drag it to another place in the PDF file.
- Shape type : You can use this tool to add a shadow or thickness to lines used in any shape.
- The color of the border : With this tool you can change the color of the lines in the form.
- Fill color : Fill color lets you fill a shape with the color of your choice.
- Text style : This tool allows you to change the font, font style or color.

If you are using macOS Mojave or higher, you can edit a PDF using Quick View. Allows you to preview a document by selecting it and pressing the space bar without opening the preview program.
To edit a PDF file in Quick View, do the following
Step one: Find the PDF you want to edit and select it by clicking on it.
Step two: Press the space bar. A preview of the document appears on the screen.
Step three: Click on the icon of the marking tool in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step four: The highlighting toolbar appears below the icon. As mentioned above, you can use these tools to perform various actions on the selected PDF file – click Ready to Save.
